Alexandra Samuel interviews Evernote CEO Phil Libin for a blog post about processing data and managing information overload. It’s pretty standard stuff–until Libin says this in response to a question about other (non-Evernote) techniques and solutions for managing all the data:
Ignoring things. I used to try to keep up on Facebook and Twitter. I just completely stopped doing that. If someone tweets at me they shouldn’t expect me to see it. You have to stop caring about the random stuff on social media and treat it as entertainment, which is what it is.
If someone’s talking to you (or about you), shouldn’t you at least be listening?
