Next month I’m hosting a party — and you’re invited.
My friend Tom Martin asked me to co-host an event as part of a 10-day, 10-city tour to promote his new book and raise money for local charities. And he said co-host Melissa Case and I could select the charity for his Washington, DC, stop.
We’re raising funds for Fisher Houses Bethesda.
The Fisher Houses are essentially Ronald McDonald houses for families of military personnel–safe, free, comfortable places to stay while they’re visiting wounded loved ones in the hospital or during their rehab. The five Fisher Houses on the campus of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center can house up to 73 families. This is really important, because the medical center treats 98 percent of the most severely wounded active duty personnel.
Join me for a very happy happy hour.
Join me on October 24 at the DoubleTree in Crystal City (with a sky lounge with amazing views) to meet Tom Martin and support wounded warriors and their families. The bottom line is you get 2 free drinks, great appetizers, a very useful book about propinquity and how to sell without selling, and all the net proceeds will go to Fisher Houses Bethesda.
Share the love with your friends.
It takes a community to get the word out–and to raise money. Help us get the word our by sharing this post on Facebook, on Twitter, on LinkedIn, on Google+, and anywhere else you might hang out.
There’s even a cool hashtag so we can retweet, share, and otherwise amplify the love: #ivs4charity.
Melissa calls it a “Happy Hour for Heroes.” Which, come to think of it, pretty much says it all.
We even created a short video. [Click here if you can’t see the embedded video.]
